Journal entry #1

Chapter 1 ~ The Rescue

This entry is for chapter one and in chapter one of The Child Called It David experienced that he can no longer hide from the police or his teachers anymore of what his abusive mother has done to him. the bruises and the scars, the cuts, they are no longer hidden and he can only worry about what his mother will do to him next. He's  scared and all he wants is to get away from his mother. Hell has truly come to the home of the Pelzer family.

"I have to call her David." he gently said
"NO!" I commanded.
I thought this quote was important because it shows how scared David feels even though hes not in trouble.

what was Davids greatest triumph in this chapter?
how did he get through it all?

  2. The biggest challenge for David in this chapter was....hoping that mother wouldn't find out that he told the teachers about him being beaten at home
